Stormtrooper is a nine-part documentary series that I conceived, wrote, produced and presented, inspired by one simple question: Can a childhood dream ever become reality?
Driven by a lifelong ambition to appear in a Star Wars film, I set out on a three-year journey to turn that dream into something tangible. Entirely self-funded and independently produced, the series follows every twist and turn of that adventure, capturing the determination, humour and resilience needed to pursue what many would consider an impossible goal.
Across nine bite-sized episodes, viewers join me as I step far beyond my comfort zone—from tracking down filmmaker J.J. Abrams at Star Wars Celebration in California to taking part in military-style combat training, all in pursuit of earning the chance to wear the iconic Stormtrooper armour. Along the way, friends and family become part of the story, bringing warmth, humour and perspective to the journey.
While the backdrop is the Star Wars universe, Stormtrooper is ultimately a documentary about ambition, perseverance and the courage to follow through on a childhood dream. It’s a celebration of curiosity, creativity and the belief that extraordinary opportunities often begin with one small decision: to simply give it a go.
More than a documentary about fandom, Stormtrooper became a personal reminder that some dreams are worth chasing—no matter how unlikely they may seem—and that the journey itself can be every bit as rewarding as the destination.
